To Be a Dog (a daydream while driving)
By 1stpoet
To Be a Dog Oh those dog days romping and tromping sniffing and chomping at butterflies days spent lounging in the sunlight of summer basking on the grass belly up to the warmth then running and jumping in the lake swimming, chasing ducks barking and running after cars and trucks sniffing crotches (and getting away with it) yes, to come into the house muddy and wet from a rainstorm and not get scolded (sorry I missed the rug) to lift a leg on the tree to pee or take a dump by a stump....... There is the sign 37 miles to the next rest area. William S. Dawes Written March 1st, 2002 © on Mar 01 2002 01:59 AM PST 0 • 14
