Toxic Baby (may be disturbing)
By 1stpoet
A toxic baby is what I am Born and raised in a garbage can I breathe acid fumes and toxic mists Because of the lifestyle that helps me exist I have deep scars on my arms and leg For clean air and water I must beg There is no end to my miserable plight It’s been 10 years since I have seen pure sunlight The food I eat, full of DDT Choking fumes are surrounding me I feel as if my life is a lesson That with Mother Nature we shant be messin' My eyes seem blind, I can not see Is it really better living through chemistry? for there was a time I was a great dancer Now I anguish with the pain of Brain Cancer This poem may be morbid, and I hope that you grasp the meaning so for clean air you won’t gasp I only have strength to type this last line out For my supper today was a mutated trout Copyright 1stPoet William Dawes 5/21/00this is one of my older works (well 2 years is not all that long ago). I used to work at a hazardous chemical waste facility....need I say where the inspiration came from for this. WSD Written May 21st, 2000 © on Jan 03 2002 08:39 AM PST 18 • 0 • 1
