WORDSPACE If rhyme is the reason for writing One may surely find a word But it must make sense when seen And even when it’s heard Some say meter is what it takes To get the point across Throughout the words upon the page There are those little breaks Image is used to paint the scene A canvas to our eyes Moving like a movie on a screen More meaning it implies Emotion, oh that word The reader it can touch Heart strings pulled, the mind awake Emotion does so much Narrative or drama, well These are also used It helps one to follow along And not be left confused Some other tools that one can employ Are intellect and wit Shakespeare, Auden, and Tennyson Seemed to make it fit Now once the work is completed Spelling and grammar checked once again My sermon now is finished All can say AMEN William Dawes July 2000 Written December 9th, 2000 © on Dec 09 2001 12:41 AM PST 0 • 10
