a Tragic Day

By Andrea

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

A sky as blue as an ocean wave, America so bold and so brave, So many men led astray, They changed the world that tragic day. A day we will never live to forget, Within our minds and hearts its set, But life goes on so we’re told, Light a candle for the  dead, say a prayer for the bold. Live every minute as if it were your last, Look to the future, forget your past, Don’t put off till tomorrow if you can do it today, Tomorrow may never come your way. Tell those who you love just how you feel, Let them know what you say is real, If you need to say sorry say it with pride, Don’t wait for a better time for there may be no tide. Live, Love and Laugh the very best you can, Always be your very best Fan, Thank yourself when things go right, Say thank you for each day and night. Life holds no guarantees .. only a few if’s So give yourself a special gift, A gift of happiness throughout each day, And do your best to make someone’s day. Grant them a smile .. a cheery hello, Paint a picture .. the background bright yellow, Don’t be afraid to reach out to those in need, Grant them a smile and you’ll plant the perfect seed. May God heal your suffering, your tears and your pain, May the sky welcome the sunshine and close up on the rain, May your buildings be rebuilt and may your life go on again, May God be with the workers those in and out of the crane. God Bless America and Bless those who we lost, God be with those families who have paid the cost, May the grey sky return to a wave so blue, And may God watch over all of you.
