A love lost

By Angelize

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

We promised one another the world, held it in our hands, if only in our imagination. We planned, plotted and schemed, as we dreamed of our tomorrows. Then, a distant sound of thunder. Did you not notice when our rainbow gave way to a darkened sky? Yet, I think I can recall when your laughter first rang hollow, my own sounding with untruths. My warning to you, however, was a single tear that you laughingly wiped away. You would have seen the emptiness of our dreams reflected in that tear, had you but looked. Now, all that we hold between us, is a love long lost. Written October 15th, 2001 © on Oct 14 2001 04:45 PM PST   0 • 18 • 8
