Dancing Barefoot

By Apparition

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

We danced barefoot in the yard. On carpet made of grass.   Moonlight softly falling.   Night bugs floating past. You sang sofly in my ear. I remember every word.   Then you whispered something   I wasn't sure I'd heard. I asked you to repeat it. You just shook your head.   And continued dancing,   Humming then instead. Walking toward the creek bank. Past honeysuckle vines,   Is when you said those words again.   I heard them all this time. Written April 20th, 2002 © on Apr 19 2002 04:56 PM PST   18 • 0 • 8
