Where The Knife Rests

By Ashley Bright

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

You marry my skin eagerly with lies Like some lavish warrant Held for the childrens taste My ring seeks approval as a languid daughter And behind your hiding Those stale half-bitten lips for Elysium And I'm heedless how you flush From the worshipers donations Scared, you wear that name like your own While I've reasoned to your distant plot The knife is resting in my heart dear Misplaced by your careless words Your arms are choking another dear Weeping in their deficient reach My reflection stapled upon your eyes As you make your way without me Each hour passes, Each night grows frail and empty To "wait" would be nothing more than diseased sluts Behind your hiding, Behind I'm fading Fear...you fuck that name like she was your own While I've long seen you in  your eyes A charmer, A snake charmer Howling me off to cold sleep And even there you're a stalking regret Lonely, Forsaken, and bitter to your word I have but one request Darling... Its less painful in the backyeah...FUCK FUCK FUCK ok....feel better now :*) Written January 29th, 2002 © on Jan 29 2002 12:26 PM PST    18 • 0 • 1
