Silent Wings

By BadKharma

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I never heard them coming, but it was time... Angry at the world, filled with spite, tossing and turning, all night... I never heard them coming, but it was time... Late for work, late for life, nothing good, nothing right... I never heard them coming, but it was time... Worried about money, searching for love, never enough time, hurrying along... I never heard them coming, but it was time... Sped through the light, saw the truck, shattering glass, passing into black... I never heard them coming, but it was time... Red and blue lights, distant voices, but all I see, is the summer sky... I never heard them coming, but it was time... Floating up and away, I hear their singing, their gentle touch, their silent wings. I never heard them coming, but it was my time...
