No Shame

By Barb Davidson

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Eyes locked across the dance floor, Hearts pounding, like sea on the shore, Minds locked in a distant time, Old lovers found new, life so fine. They walked again hand in hand, The years gone, didn't matter, understand, Arms embracing, lips touching, tongues taste, Forever lovers, lost in time and space. The night passed in rapture, divine sensations, Morning bringing real life complications, Families, children, all things in the way, This is life for real, no Broadway play. Parting with no promises to keep, Old lovers holding, tears they weep, Home she went, to her loyal man, To explain her absence as best she can. Nothing less than the truth would do, Lies are for some folk, but not her too, Tears, anger, remorse and blame, But nowhere amongst it did she feel shame. When love is fulfilled in all it's ways, Then regret for it's happening never stays, Unconditional love is what you need, To understand that feelings of love must be freed. She packed her bags and wiped her eyes, He couldn't take her truth, preferred her to lie, But lies are just a hiding game, Because true lovers, know no shame......Originally released as a challenge poem back in April..but as i had no readers then only Nell read it..so here it is...
