Cheddar Louise (Childrens)
By birksy
There was a little piece of cheese, She lived down Buttermill Street, Her name was Cheddar Louise, And she fancied a cucumber named Pete. She only watched him from afar, And sighed when he walked by, Oh how she longed to say to him, You're the vegetable of my eye. One day she walked among the leaves, Of a salad she called her own, A light did shine above her head, And the seeds of a plan were sewn. For there she saw a little sign, Which said that late that night, A party would be in full swing, And she squealed with pure delight. “Of course!” she thought, her head a spin, And rushed back home to find, Her dearest bottle of salad dressing, And a revealing piece of rind. She knew that night she couldn't waste, She had to grab her chance, To go and meet her clear wrapped hunk, And ask him for a dance. The music blared as she approached, The party was in full throng, She stood quite nervous at the door, And hoped she wasn't wrong. She held her breath and closed her eyes, And made a special wish, That tonight the stars might shine for her, And she’d catch her one big dish. Well, the night did pass in one quick flash, It was nearly time to leave, But poor Louise was still alone, A very blue cheese indeed. She sat, her head was in her hands, Her chance of love flown by, Pete, her one and only gourd, Had left her high and dry. Then came a voice, “Louise”, it said, “May I have this dance?” And before she knew she was in his arms, Victim of a wild romance. And till this day they’ve not looked back, It’s all maturing well, There’s even rumours that in the fridge next year, We may see a babybel.
