Coughs
By birksy
That cough’s from her smoking, you can hear it deep down, you can tell that she hardly knows it’s there. Her children have the same cough, she thinks it’s hereditary, in a way, I suppose it is. Though when she’s dressed all in black, slowly coughing, slowly crying, she won’t remember, won’t ever blame herself. That cough’s from her smoking, you can hear it, hope it gets her, hope at last, the downward trend might be stopped. Written February 1st, 2002 © on Jan 31 2002 10:38 PM PST, Simon Birks 0 • 1
