Counting Grass Not Sheep
By birksy
I really need my bed tonight, I’ve been down here for too long, But looking down’s a real insight, For finding out what’s wrong. There’s stains upon my only jeans, And lines from dwindling sleep, But being down here only means, I’m counting grass not sheep. I’ve never had the time to waste, To get dirt deep in my nails, To spread my arms as I am faced, With slipping from the rails. And maybe if I had the chance, The things I choose to keep, Wouldn’t even get a second glance, Now I’m counting grass not sheep.
