Dark Corners
By birksy
These dark corners, they hide some, but not all, movement. I sit very still, catch a glimpse of something, as it scuttles, keeps to the edges, sometimes pauses overhead. I feel it close, invades my personal space, then moves away. I dare not speak it's name, though I fear it will get me soon. Breath drawing shallow, dreams hardly dreams anymore, I try to hide up high, in unknown lands. Will I take the pressure? My heart grows evermore perplexed.
