I Broke the Sign
By birksy
I broke the sign, clean in two, Ran for the side street, Trained feet passing pavement three slabs at a time. Then later, I walked past again, slowly from the top of the road, watched the work I’d done saw some plastic on the floor. Now it’s the next morning, And from across the road I stand, draw on a cigarette, And light another. Written February 9th, 1999 © on Nov 12 2001 06:37 AM PST, Simon Birks 0 • 9
