Louise's First Day (Childrens)

By birksy

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

With big brown eyes and ponytail, Louise looked up and began to wail. 'Louise, Louise,' her dad had said, 'This is the day that all kids dread.' But now in the classroom all looked round, Trying to see who was making that sound. Which only made poor Louise cry more And stamp her feet on the wooden floor. The teacher tried to calm her down With nothing more but a knowing frown, Which was hard to do thought Cheddar Louise When your teacher's a prune in his seventies. This cheered her up and she started to smile, Then giggle and laugh for quite a while. Before too long the whole class was roaring, And they thought that school was going to be boring. In no time at all the lesson was done, Louise rushed to the playground to have more fun. She won at hopscotch and played hide and seek, With Robin the radish and Lucy the leek. But then the school bell rang again, And back to class they walked as friends. Written January 20th, 2002 © on Jan 19 2002 09:13 PM PST, Simon Birks   0 • 14
