Many Shades
By birksy
I lie, the water sustains my frame, so close to sinking, I twitch my eyes, but little more, what’s lurks beside it best ignored. The sky has its many shades, today it chooses blue, and I watch the fancy birds swoop and dive low, they think I'm scenery, too. And I've thought of turning over, swimming to a different spot, but in truth there's little chance of finding something better. The water just supports me, as I lie, or perhaps it doesn't, perhaps I may have grown enough, learned enough, to float all by my very self.
