Not the Days of Others
By birksy
Behind me, exasperated, the words, ‘it’s not my day’ spit around my ears. And though a dropped tray is indeed frustrating, it hardly ruins your day, and is soon lost again. But I imagine, elsewhere it’s not the days of others who simply, carry on. Who is there to hear them? To make today unlike yesterday, stop the cycle, and offer them a hand off? Selfishly, I must leave these people, and hope that someone will help them, for all our time is precious. Written June 13th, 1998 © on Sep 22 2001 12:44 AM PST, Simon Birks 0 • 10
