One Eye Open
By birksy
As the sun sleeps through lazy days are in the minds of others, who stare through cooling eyes, and stoop to keep the fresh day churning. Upon the step, she sits, stares up to catch the first drops of light soaking through nights bleak blanket, she stretches, silently. And now the night, once more, has become no more than a tinge in the sky, and the memory of him greys, as the others pull for her attention. Now she must sleep through one more day, so she curls, into the ball, while behind her, the step slowly warms, she slumbers, her feline form, asleep, with one eye open.
