Shore Up The Siding

By birksy

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Shore up the siding, One hand on top of another, fingers interlaced with the next, no gaps allowed to show. And if we feel it might fall, another battalion from behind supports the backs of those in front. Now they stand in silent order, the strain still hard on their faces, they’ll fight it till the end, though they know not what is the end. If you pass, give them only encouragement, for if you don’t they might just be holding up, what you hold most dear. Written December 14th, 2001 © on Dec 21 2001 02:18 AM PST, Simon Birks   0 • 9
