The Trip Down South
By birksy
The trip down south, there’s a sea waiting for me, It keeps my hopes high, keeps my eyes on the road, There are plenty of distractions, my eyes on the road, Not going to peek, not falling asleep. Sleep in the rough, aches keep waking my dreams, I turn up the heat, but I’m still cold as hell, Twist the engine to submission, can’t wait to be home, Not going to fear, keep twisting the wheel. Like the shells on the beach, the waves crash in my ears, Jump onto stones, spray hits me like tears, There’s a chant I can hear, as I wade in the foam, It says it’s never enough just to dream of your home.Older one - probably not as good. But okay. Written January 16th, 2001 © on Jan 04 2002 08:01 AM PST, Simon Birks 0 • 12
