Twitter, twitter, twitter, said the bird upon the tree, Twitter, twitter, twitter, then he turned and looked at me, He said, I hope the gun you have won’t cause us any harm, He said, you see, too many have been fooled by human charm. I said, now would I dare shoot a thing as fine as you, I said, look let me set it down and rest against my shoe, He said, but what is that I see, poked down your tartan sock, He said, a knife is just as cruel, so place it on the rock. By now, all who’d been around, had stole a few more feet, By now, all there was to see, was this bird and man’s strange meet. He said, now can you tell me why you have these fateful tools, He said, look around at us, do we look like blinded fools? I said, the world today is a bad and nasty place, I said, I think if you were me, these tools you would embrace. And then, the bird he looked at me, and said with simple tone, Please, look around once more, and ask who is alone, Of course, it’s me I said aloud, but I don’t feel bitter, And with that the bird flew off, saying, twitter, twitter, twitter.
