Necklace
The necklace Once hung round my neck Now lays broken Into a solitary section Charm missing Just like our love The charm absent weeks ago He said it would be him And so I cherished it Swore I’d wear it eternally For as long as my love lasted I used to play with it, Fling it from side to side I used just hold it in my hands It was just like holding him I swore I would keep it Even after he declared His love was no more That maybe he'd be back one day I said as long as i have this You know i will still care Today my memory broke I tried to save it Attempted to keep it It fell Into the deep abyss Charm gone forever Just like him He left So did the emblem of him That hung round my neck Now when I go to hold it It’s no longer there Only a constant memento That neither is he More symbolic than before His love is gone And so is my necklace...
