Just Another Day
Wake up, get out of bed, look at the misery in your head. Put on your shoes, go down the stairs and pour your morning coffee. Off to work, another day another dollar, keep it rolling in to pay. The paperwork mountain’s too high for one day. Stare out the window for another five, who cares? It’s 12 o’clock already time for lunch, The same sweaty plastic sandwiches being prepared by nuns. Old discussions rear their ugly head started by the boss. Juniors kiss ass trying to raise their pay. The joker tries to start some fun, but no one’s in. An hour is too long in a place like hell. Back to work and nothings done, the window calls. Too many phone calls, meetings all day. Productions at an all time low and it’s all your fault. Roll on 5.o’clock back to your life. What life, which wife. Tea’s on the table ready when u get home. Dishes all done, kiss the kids goodnight. The evening’s just begun, you’re off out. Meet the lads, off for a curry and a beer. Meet your ideal woman take her to the other home. Do what you do then leave the money. Back to the doormat, off to bed to do it all again for free.2000, Written January 24th, 2002 © on Jan 24 2002 06:29 AM PST 0 • 10
