When the thought of christmas shopping Is really the pits And all that ho-ho-hoing Just gives you the shits Then think of poor Mary Now there in lies a yarn Forced to give birth In a cold draughty barn And when it was over The babies proud pa Decided to announce it By displaying a star As though it wasn't enough She couldn't sleep for the light People came by the dozen She had visitors all night There were kings who brought gifts Frankincense,  gold and myrrh But none thought to bring So much as a daisy for her There were drummers and shepherds Angel choirs what a sight So just give a thought To the first yuletide plight For christmas is giving Love for others not self When all fights and differences Should be put on the shelf So stop all your whinging Pick your chin off the floor And try to remember What this day's really for Written February 13th, 2002 © on Feb 12 2002 09:53 PM PST   10 • 0
