The Minds Eye
By bunce
The autumn leaves were falling And a chill was in the air As I wandered through the woodland Sure that no-one else was there My eyes beheld the wonder My mind was in a whirl When suddenly from nowhere There appeared a little girl She didn't seem to notice That I had invaded her retreat So I hid behind an oak tree Trying hard to be discreet She moved so very slowly Each step was carefully placed And with nimble little fingers Each flower and leaf she traced She stopped within a clearing Her face turned to the sun And I stepped out from my hiding Praying hard she wouldn't run But the wonder she was seeing Was all within her mind For when she asked "Is someone there?" I knew she must be blind Written February 13th, 2002 © on Feb 12 2002 09:07 PM PST 10 • 0
