Bird Bath (Challenge Poem)
By Cally
I am tiny I bring life with friends Death alone And I sit up here and wait. Waiting for the right time To burst and shine In my transient abode, I whistle to and fro. The moment comes, My life begins In that ever downwards spiral I am released. Pulled out vertically, Still together I sail, buffeted by sheets Of steel and peuter, I sway into the feathery breeze And hover gentley Just to tease, My friends and I Wait, bye and bye. Until the crashing Thundering, whipping Rain, beating down Through vast expanses Open seas of cloud and air, We reach the soild, We are there, And with a feathers kiss Or with titans rage I shatter into fragments: Make pools for birds to bathe.a while ago, Written March 10th, 2002 © on Mar 10 2002 12:27 AM PST 10 • 0
