The Insurance Of Being Human

By carsonegsmith2

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I love and I need, I am only human, This heart of mine, So confused with How can I say? Ah yes, Delusion. My eyes so tired, It shows So dark they are, They have become, The center of me, The center of all I know, The core of my salvation. Salvation, A word with so much meaning, Yet so delicate in desire, I had salvation once, It did not last, It got lost in the social norms, Somewhere between 14 and 27 years. I cry inside, Motionless I have become, My mind numb with senseless dreams, Corrupted with devilish feelings of lust, This unknowingly power assures my body, That I am only human.
