The World Just Passed Me By
I sit right here you stand in front, And preach a lullaby, You have forgotten what is was like, When the world just passed you by. I sit alone and listen to you speak, Your words they make no sense, And I laugh alone for what I see, Your soul has not been blest. Your thoughts so blank your eyes so dark, You do not realize, That you are there by the stroke of luck, Blessed by those who passed me by. To this I see and to this I feel, The rawness of the world, Not once I loved the world like you, So cursed I feel inside. I work the day to leave at night, And walk the whole way home, Regret I feel for the day is gone, The darkness became my light. No hope for life that can prevail, The emotions still run high, But I have been dead since I was born, With memories of being passed by. I wonder when my time will come, To show what I know best, But this will not be, I am not like the world, And my soul has not been blest. So I remain the man that I was destined to be, From the time I was conceived, So alone I am inside my thoughts, With hurtful memories.
