Storm
By casey
Waves crash upon the shore My heart pounding above the thunderous roar One lonely being am I Underneath this blackened sky No moon or stars to light the night Just clapping thunder and flash of light In that brief flash one can almost see The turmoil brewing deep within me. The thrashing, smashing, relentless waves No match for my growing rage. Why was I spared and not he? My lover's grave site, the monstrous sea. With a boom the rains from heaven release Tears flow freely down my cheeks And finally a sense of peace As the storm subsides and I finally see The life taken was not him , but me.
