Dad

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Dad, I don’t want to hate you Every time I hate you I hurt myself inside I wanted you to know but you ignored me So I just kept it all inside Im sorry I wasn’t enough to keep you around I’m sorry that I wasn’t as good as your new life That I can’t measure up to everything you have With your two step-sons and new wife You hurt my mom, Dad, You raped her when you came home at night I don’t know why I believed you, When you lied and said she was alright I was little, Dad, You were my life Things changed when you left You made us all cry So, Dad, how is your life? Are you doing all right? You never needed me So I never needed me And you can live without me I had to live without you Well, later Dad, I’ll take your advice I’ll try to live without myself In turn ending my life Written April 14th, 2002 © on Apr 14 2002 02:05 PM PST   18 • 0 • 10
