My Dream About Dying

By CassieJoeB

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

I dreamt about dying It was the best dream I’ve had Since I’ve died inside I had a dream about dying It wasn’t even sad I didn’t see anybody cry A few people gathered my grave They said I couldn’t run anymore Said I’d died so young I never felt so old before My father looked very brave There to ease the public eye I really didn’t care That we never said goodbye Yeah well, they always thought I was insecure At first they said God made me pure Played with my fire and I got burnt I did wrong, they called me dirt They all talked about the life I had Things I already knew That I was a just child gone bad And may God bless my soul When they left I was alone More alone than I ever was And it felt so good I hurt inside from broken trust More hurt than I ever was And it felt so good When they left I was alone More alone than I ever was And it felt so good Written April 14th, 2002 © on Apr 14 2002 01:05 PM PST   18 • 0 • 9
