Sun
By catz
SUN The morning sun rises slowly, then Glaringly dares the start of a new day It’s heat already building, waves of heat Caressing the trees, stabbing with each ray This dastardly sun, two faced, vicious Bringing welcome warmth, then burning Scorching all in its path Leaving pleading souls, thirsty, yearning Ahh! A breeze, momentary relief from Hell Rustling the leaves ever so slightly Cooling my brow, giving me hope Touching my soul ever so lightly The day wears on, will it ever end Surely the evening is near When the sun will move westward Lower itself and disappear My hate for it grows, detested And just when it seems never to cease It dips, barely peeking above the horizon A portrait of beauty, blues, pinks, peace By Dee Garner July 18, 2001Do I sound as if I hate the sun?? Not really...but, damn, this summer Phoenix sun is enough to make us old former Northwesterners melt into the sand. This was inspired by a 'must do' 3 mile walk in the early morning....already too danged hot! © on Oct 28 2001 10:52 AM PST, Dee Garner nature • hope • angst
