Sunset
By catz
Sunset As the evening sun slowly sinks below the horizon And another all too short day comes to an end I sit and wonder as I watch If there will be another tomorrow The blazing sun meets the black outline of the far hills It’s blinding light preceding the beauty to come As the sky changes to pink and blue Such beauty amid the sorrow All the days of my life seem to blend into one With only memories to fill my thoughts I ask myself why, what for I know the answer of course So much love, so much happiness, so much joy It makes the sadness that slips into my heart Just a little easier, less important Almost no regrets, almost no remorse I pray for just one more day on earth Just one more moment with the ones I love Before my days are done But I can hear the far off voices call I must use this night to relive my dreams To say farewell to all I’ve known If I can just do all this tonight Is the morning so important after all Dee Garner July 18, 2000 © on Oct 28 2001 11:47 AM PST, Dee Garner other
