My plea

By Chris Winfield

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

The letter on the doormat lies Stained with tears, full of sighs. Returned love letters are so sad Our life together wasn’t all bad. My love to you on every page Hoping to assuage your rage. Returned by you, “ address unknown” As if my love you did disown. Oh don’t be cruel please hear my plea Please don’t return this letter to me.
