Oh Love

By Clouded Nights

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Oh love, don’t you know?My heart is for you,  why do you weep so?I hear you crying, and whimpering so sad.I always question you, but you always get mad.Oh love, can’t you see?My love flows constantly, quick like the sea.I still listen to your whispers, of sobbing woes.I always see you in dark spirit; Your black as crows.Oh love, won’t you hear? What I have for you, why does it give you fear?I can’t help but notice, that you instantly quakeWhen I touch your hand; I’m as gentle as a snake.Oh love, please do not cry!I want to hold you, and never let you die.Why do you look so sleepy, when the day is so new?I long to embrace you, oh! How love is too true!Oh love, why won’t you stir?I shake you constantly; My mind is a blur.I touch your chest, and feel nothing but skin.I feel no heart beat! Oh, when did I sin?!Oh love, please open your eyes.I touch your damp cheeks, and now come to realize.Your wings to heaven have come, and you are away.I wish I could go; Do not worry dove, I will some day.Oh love, where have you went?I notice your throat bled; Is that what you meant?I see in your hand, a smooth white knife.God no! Have you taken your own life?Oh love, you are gone forever more.As I rise with your knife, I exit out the door.I slide it into myself, making sure I hit my mark. And as my eyes close, the world grows dark.I'm not sure if the length is appropriate, due to the ending I have. I feel I 'could' add more, but will it ruin the ending? Or is it good enough? Written October 9th, 2001 © on Oct 09 2001 11:26 AM PST, Thomas Rudd   0 • 1 • 8
