Burning Wrists

I like to title these feelings before I know them. The bell rings and I marvel at the salivation around me. It’s human nature to rebel, so why don’t they? Maybe they’re too comfortable. Complacency leads to tolerance where it is undue. Move to the next tier or die to yourself. Slide back the cover to reveal the heart you seek, but only so much can be stored in one place in your world. You should join me, but you’re glued. If you try to get away your skin will tear, and you’re too afraid; you don’t know if it will heal or not, so you don’t feel like taking the leap. Yearning voice which is only heard by the unshackled. Jumping toward light like a moth. You have no qualms about following the leash of paper you’ve been handed. If you took up the hands of the few twinkling lights of freedom that walk amongst you, unknown, you could be free of all this. I had to. But you may not have the correct field of vision to ever do so, in which case you shall follow the digits wherever they decide to lead.
