I Know You

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Note: This is about, and to, someone who knows who they are. I have alot of love for you. You are a stone to stand on, you are a simple thing, You are cacophony and cadence in a molten winter sting. And if you’d see me fit to be blessed by your screaming harmony, Then speak your peace, and break that leash, and leave a thought inside of me. You are too much for me to hold, so I will just step back, You are silence broken by the cold and mended by your tracks. And if you’d let me stand right here and see that there’s no time for fear, Then I would stay, and I would pray, and I would carry every tear. You are a giant burning star, and I can’t look for long, You are so bright that every word you say makes all mine wrong. And if you’d share with me this wind then I would stay here 'til its end, Then I would think, then I would drink, and let you know you’re first my friend.
