Ketamine 11 - Necessary Error

Suddenly I knew. I stood up, looked at the sun, and said, “Come down, winged creatures.” At once, there appeared seven silhouettes from behind the sun. Again they sank slowly to the island, again they alighted in a loose triangle, again the leader stepped forward, and again his eyes spewed forth a shower of sparks. He glared at me with an anger parallel to that of before. Suddenly, a ubiquitous crouch overtook all their postures. They began to move towards me as before, but I stood firm and said, “Stop.” A look of surprise found all their faces, and they did just that. They looked to their leader for some sort of guidance, but found him standing wide-eyed with his mouth agape. And so I wept. There had been used by me an unnecessary and immoral power which I possessed. I knew then that I had possessed it all my life, but possessed it for the sole purpose of its disuse. I had committed a wretched sin against these beings of natural force. There was a balance I then learned of which is never to be tampered with. There are certain things which must simply happen, and you must let them happen to you. I begged their forgiveness with my eyes, and saw through clouded tears a somber nod from the dominant. He turned on his heel, and lunged back towards the sun, followed closely by his six duty-bound companions. Written January 9th, 2002 © on Jan 08 2002 03:45 PM PST 0 • 10
