Then it was done. The world decided I had learned enough. Or perhaps I had a cup of ice water splashed in my face, it was arbitrary. The nurse helped me to the car, and my father and mother drove home. I spent the rest of the day consuming pain killers and water, and when I awoke the following morning it was all the same. There was, however, a nagging thought in the recesses of my brain. I felt as if I were forgetting something. As I lay in my bed, contemplating what exactly was assaulting my subconscious, I felt as though there was something amazing which I had left behind. There was only silence and rainfall, and even in that illustrious clarity I was unable to grab hold of it. I was waiting very impatiently for absolutely nothing. In an opiate trance as it could best be described, I was not in a shape to make any strong axon connections. Then my father quietly opened the door and walked in.
