Ketamine 9 - Looking Up

Don’t forget where we are, now. There lies ahead a vast plain of imagination, and I was still floating through it uncontrollably, albeit slightly more assured. A flight took place upon my return from my past. I was suspended in the air while the world spun round beneath me. It was far too great a speed to see any sights, but there was no worry. At once it stopped without deceleration. There seemed to be a strange field before me, one of dead nature. There was a peculiar series of holes in the ground, only a few millimeters in diameter. Upon closer inspection, I observed that they were in fact smooth, straight tubes into the earth. But there was something still stranger about them, something abnormal. Were they moving? Indeed they were. Holes that swayed back and forth as if blown by a subterranean breeze; it made no sense. I walked through this lake of oddity only to come to a bush-like growth in the ground. A closer look revealed an appearance more akin to a dead tree, but with tiny hairs on its branches. Suddenly it dawned on me, and it seemed quite obvious from the beginning. I was in an inverted wheat field. The tubes in the soil were reciprocated stalks of wheat, and the bush-like figure was the root system of a small tree. All was backwards and inside-out. Further proof of this theory came trotting through the field. I watched in amazement as the footprints of a dog rose, one by one, out of the ground. This time I knew what was going on. I was being taught a lesson by myself. Written January 9th, 2002 © on Jan 08 2002 03:46 PM PST 0 • 10
