Fuzzy Perfection
By cristalena
She says she's all right, As she brushes a tear from her eye, And hopes I don't notice. She says she is happy, But she and I both know She can't remember the last time. She says they love her, But their words and deeds only further prove, They are incapable of loving anyone. She says she wants freedom, As she grips her cage tightly, With both hands holding her fast. She says she's not lonely, While crying herself to sleep at night, And fantasizing about men in movies. She says she is pretty, As she pores on another layer of makeup And grimaces at her reflection in the mirror. She says I don't know her, While I see her heart on the table, Open and waiting for something to fill it.This is an old poem. My writing has changed a lot, but I'd still like help!
