A Lonely Girl
By Danni468
If you look into her eyes you'll see that it is there That mysterious sadness that seems too much to bear She covers it well, held deep down inside But there are moments you'll see it through all her pride If you see her you'll think its all fun and games You'll never actually know how she's been burnt by the flames She seems so outgoing, and so limitlessly carefree Yet the pain is there, though vertually impossible to see A past life of torture, she keeps locked away All wounds tend to scar, and forever seem to stay She lives with broken promises, lies of those who were there And heartache and pain of those who pretended to care She's been used, traumatically abused, but you would never tell She carries herself forward, in grace, so very well She craves the love she dreams of in her fantasy I know so much about her, that lonely girl is me... (Bruce, this poem is for you! I will overcome what you have put me through! I know it will be hard, but I have my little angel, my baby and neither you, nor my past will ever be able to break me again) Written January 16th, 2002 © on Jan 15 2002 11:46 PM PST 18 • 0 • 1
