Like a Storm Life has relentlessly drenched me With hardships, loss, And persistent misery. The ominous clouds Never receded from the black horizon My future always seemed Bleak, Hopeless and brazen. A precious few times Has the sun penetrated through this wall, I had given up hope And learned to survive beneath this pall. Destined to be alone Never did I dream the storm would subside But today suddenly the clouds lifted And for the first time I felt alive. The warmth of the suns new rays Imbued me with a new feeling of tenderness As they created a beautiful vibrant rainbow before me Which guided me to true happiness.
