You are the dagger Concealed beneath the cloak. You are the queasiness inside Making me want to choke. You say you are honest with me What a fruitless joke. I gave you everything You took it all in stride, You never really listened, Never knew how I felt inside, Now I am changed forever And through you a piece of me has died. Behind my back you crept Stealthily and without effort I never suspected anything I loved you so much it hurt Blinded by my emotions I was not hard for you to avert. Whispers in the dark Unable to be translated by ear In soft voices you spoke Even when I was near Just how long has this been going on? The answer, I’m not sure I want to hear. I loved you Amy This will always be true But no more will I be abused While you search for someone new The 3 years we shared meant the world to me But obviously it was worthless to you.I wrote this poem in conjunction with my other poem betrayal.
