Praying For Sunshine
By DarkDruidess
The rain clouds have begun to build again Tall and threatening ready to release a deluge That has the possibility of drowning my soul I stand shaking wondering what it all means The wind blows my hair in circles Whipping it each and every way I continue my ardent prayer for peace But the storm is unfazed by my treaties I shiver with the coldness that rises up Forcing me to hold onto myself in protection While lightening illuminates the sky With great flashes and booming thunder I feel so small and helpless to it all The cacophony continues around me Terrible power on display in the night As my tears start to fall in silence The rain begins to fall soaking me Wet and trembling I still beg for solace From that great higher power that hides Behind the storm that is life Deep understanding takes hold of me Knowing that I need strength and conviction To weather this tempest and stay whole Aware that I am being tested for my love Struggling to be the woman I need to be Trying to be courageous and see the big picture Not wanting to get lost in this storm And lose sight of what is important to me So I will stand brave in the face of this assault Holding on to the love I feel And arduously praying for the sunshine to return Written April 19th, 2002 © on Apr 19 2002 12:29 AM PST, Tami Ellis 0 • 12
