Grandpa
By Dave Adam
My grandfather was a really wise man he taught me things as a child, we'd seen people planting flowers by the road he turned to me and smiled, he said, "Always plant flowers with love in your heart, 'cause that's the only way they'll grow, if you count on the blossoms to bring you a profit, then you wont have much to show" Grandpa use to work at Daytona Racetrack he took me with him sometimes, I think his job was collecting pop-bottle caps, and carrying those big bags of dimes. Grandpa, Grandpa, my Grandpa Can I go with you Grandpa? Grandpa, My Grandpa His heart was so fragile, yet patient and kind he answered me all the time, no matter what I'd ask him, he'd stop what he's doing, to explain things with a smile, he said, "Life is like a flower that grows in your heart, with the warmth from her sunshine, and hate is like a poison that will sneak into your garden, and burn it up inside, and so, always plant your flowers, with love in your heart, 'cause that's the only way they'll grow, if you count on her promise to last you a lifetime then, you'll be walking home alone". Grandpa, Grandpa, my Grandpa I really loved my Grandpa Grandpa, My Grandpa I still remember the flowers they sent to our house the week my Grandpa died, all wrapped up in plastic and sold for a profit, I guess that's why I cried. Grandpa, Grandpa, my Grandpa I really miss my Grandpa Grandpa, My Grandpa My grandfather was a really wise man he taught me things as a child, we'd seen people planting flowers by the road, he turned to me and smiled, he said, "Always plant flowers with love in your heart, 'cause that's the only way they'll grow, if you count on the blossoms to bring you a profit then you wont have much to show".
