Dark Place
By Deb Benson
Although this does not apply to my life now I still have those dark places My life is in a dark place Though I've fought so hard to reach the light Day by day I struggle With fearful dreams at night How can I find the peace I so long to embrace When daily visions run rampant I still see his face It hovers over me It sneers a horrible grin Where can I find the strength Will it come from within The damp floor of his soul Sprouts evil like toadstools Playing all his evil games He made us all the fools Fools for obeying Because of utter fear Fools for the silence That no one can hear The fungus replicating It goes on and on I am so grateful That now he is gone Gone to meet his maker Denied at the gate He sits with satan He has fulfilled his fate DBenson 9/27/01 Written January 31st, 2002 © on Jan 31 2002 09:53 AM PST 18 • 0 • 10
