New Millenium Apocalypse

By defrage

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

Flashing  neon  signs,  burning  infection, Silent  citizens  snort  white  powder  lines. TV’s  reality,  plastic  addiction, Drunken  dementia,  delayed  thought  capacity. Myopia  sets  in,  atoms  lose  control, Crashing  cars  in  tandem,  a  violent  spin. Turning  the  life  wheel,  nausea  enmasse, Beautiful  bliss  without  a  chance  to  heal. A  sickening  view,  these  concrete  landscapes, Pale  parodies  of  life  in  a  dull  grey  hue. Directionless  race,  robotic  movement, An  android’s  anger  on  one  same  face. Try  hard  to  lose,  soiled  paper  reject, Get  green  again  and  a  chance  to  choose. Emotionless  gaze,  a  prescribed  existence, Force-fed  remedy  creates  apathetic  haze. Designed  to die,  replaced  in  credit, Bargain  basement  bodies  reduced  to  cry. Clones  on  IV  drips,  welcome  to  society, This  is  new  millennium  apocalypse.
