True Love Born

By Delilah

Topics: Poetry Source: AllPoetry Original source

From the star's twinkle touch, to the moon's quarter halo, shining forth a morning glory, onward on to memories to keep in the heart forever, the love born many centuries ago. Came from heaven's gates, to the stable, cattle's refuge, sheeps' watched by the shephards, who first heard the news of the king soon to be born tonight, in a manger. Angels sing on high the realm of king born unto us this day, on Christmas day. For true love is born unto us this day on Christmas day. A boy of small stature, came a stumbling along, to witness the babe laying in a manger. Knowing the baby was indeed important, seeing the Kings of east, their rich frankicense and mirth, they presented to the baby, kneeling and praying to the holy baby. What can he give to this baby, when he had nothing to give at all. He looked down at his drum his mama gave to him to play, then, thought the boy to himself, 'i shall play my drum for him', he strolled in the stable, and beat his sticks to the skin of his drum. 'Come they told me,' started singing to the beat of his drum. A poor boy nothing to give to the king born this day, on Christmas day, now gave his best, as the baby king Jesus smiled at his attempt. A love born this day, on Christmas day. Written December 24th, 2001 © on Dec 24 2001 12:37 AM PST   0 • 13
