I Awoke one Morning
By denlexx
I awoke one morning with a fright Someone had killed me in the night As I sat bolt upright in my bed My body stayed there it was dead It gave me one hell of a shock To see me lying there With a big knife sticking out of my chest And an Hachette parting my hair Who had done this terrible thing? While I had slept so snug Was it my lover's husband? Or maybe some other thug My lover was nowhere to be found Why had she ran away Had my darling been murdered too This I could not say Just then voices I did hear Coming from below Was that my darling's voice i heard Talking to my brother Joe "Are you sure that he's dead I'll go get the car Help me put him in the boot The rivers not that far" Then the truth it sank right in My brother did the deed They are after father's money They both did this for greed But why am I still here on earth Why am I not at rest? Maybe I have to right this wrong Before I am god's guestWell you never know there might be a part two ...lol Written February 4th, 2002 © on Feb 04 2002 12:18 AM PST, Dennis T Baker 0 • 14
